It is very important and essential to know the basic parts of your car and how to repair them. Mostly, manuals or guides are provided to guide you so they won’t be little problems later on.

Since there are no manuals for you, I will show you a few tutorials and instructional guides to follow on how to repair your car. You can start learning from any part of the car depending on where it has a problem or fault.

Below are a few major sections of the car, their problems, and instant solutions;

  1. Oil and lubrication
  2. Engine
  3. Exhaust
  4. Brakes
  5. Wheels and tires

  1. Oil and Lubrication

Oil helps majorly to lubricate the engine of your car, lubrication increases the speed and functionality of the engine to make the car move smoothly. It also reduces the effect of friction.

When a car has been subject to travel for thousands of miles and lots of hours on the road, it will lead to a high increase in the temperature of the engine. It will also be subject to wear and tear.

Oil lubricates the engine and reduces the temperature, wear and tear are also reduced. It is important to know the right time to put oil. That oil pressure reading on the dash gauge will start moving or flickering.

Another problem is the excess burning of oil due to the low viscosity and quality of the oil. To solve this, it is recommended you know the type of engine you have and purchase higher quality and more viscous one for a better performance of your car.

  1. Engine

This is a major problem that car owners experience constantly. For your engine to run efficiently, it must have the right quantity of air and fuel mixture. It should also have compression.

I will give you a few problems that the engine usually experience. They include; fuel pump failure, ignition amplifier failure, and angle sensor failure. Those few problems will stop your engine from starting, most especially when the car has been left unused for a long time.

This problem can be solved by giving the engine that sparks at the time of compression and fuel to get into the combustion chamber and run.

So, it is required to test the fuel, ignition and angle sensor system before and after use.

  1. Exhaust

The exhaust is made up of a combination of pipes and a camber that run from the engine all the way down to the back of the car. Most high ranked cars usually come with two exhausts.

Its major problem is rust which leads to wear and instant damage. Although, it depends on how extreme the exhaust has rust.

I advise you to change your exhaust immediately if you find yourself in such situations, so it would disappoint you in the middle of nowhere.

  1. Brakes

A brake system has different parts that easily wear and tear and there all should be replaced frequently. They include; brake fluid, brake shoes, brake pads, and rotors.

There are still different parts of the brake like; wheel cylinder and brake line that spoil but not as frequently as the ones above.

For example, you have a brake fluid problem, I advise you to replace the brake clipper and bleeding of the brake system. These parts of your brakes usually come up with their problems and different times and cases. All you have to do is meet your mechanic or change the damaged part yourself.

  1. Wheels and tires

Most of the car accidents that we see on the way are due to faulty tires. These tire problems are caused due to sharp objects, pothole roads, inflation.

The faulty valve is also a problem that can be solved by replacing the tire tubes. To avoid the above problems, you should;

  • Drive slowly and carefully
  • Don’t frequently remove your foot from the accelerator
  • Do not slam the brake pedal always only when it is actually needed.
  • Be cautious of all your actions when driving

Your wheels may be cut off balance most times when moving through a rough road and you’re trying to avoid bumps or potholes. To this effect, they would have problems that need to be checked and solved almost every day by you or take it to your mechanic.
